Why Participate?

In short, to become a more effective educator. You will learn how to:

  • Structure a teaching session for maximum student engagement
  • Promote active learning
  • Give and receive feedback effectively

As you progress through your career, you will continue to build on these educator skills by incorporating feedback, challenging yourself to teach with different activities, and learning more about classroom management. CAE is designed to provide medical educators with these necessary skills.

The CAE program was originally developed under Sara Johnson, MD, Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care, as the Resident as Educator (RAE) curriculum. References to RAE may be seen in some videos in this program.
