Beyond Alzheimer's: The Future of Dementia

Dr. Hansen practiced as a board certified geriatrician with the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health from 1997 until his recent retirement. He was instrumental in developing the Acute Care for Elders inpatient consult service as an attending for over 15 years, and prior to that he provided memory and primary care in ambulatory clinics.  He was Medical Director for Badger Prairie Health Care Center and provided care at nursing home sites around Dane County for 10 years.  He was named Assistant Dean for Admissions from 2010 to 2017, and subsequently spent several years as a Clinical Senior Lecturer and Medical Officer in Wellington, New Zealand, before returning to Madison.
