Meet an Alum: Dr. Miriam Shelef
Class of 2011
Post-graduate employment: Associate professor in the Division of Rheumatology within the UW Department of Medicine
Dr. Shelef joined the PSTP after finishing a dual MD/PhD at Columbia University. She leads a basic translational research program studying rheumatoid arthritis and systemic autoimmunity. Her research has been supported by the Rheumatology Research Foundation, the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, the NIH NIAMS, and the Congressional Directed Medical Research Program. She recently published a paper in The Journal of Autoimmunity on the discovery of unique rheumatoid factors in a large group of patients infected with SARS-CoV-2. Explore her lab page.
