Professional Activities

Dr. David Kosoff is a faculty member in the Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology, and Palliative Care within the Department of Medicine. He also has an appointment at the affiliated William S Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital (Madison VA) and is a member of the UW Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC).  He is the leader of the Biospecimen Disease Oriented Team at the UWCCC. He also leads the Cancer Biospecimen Program, the Precision Oncology Working Group, and clinical genitourinary cancer research at the Madison VA.  He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO); The American Society of Hematology (ASH); American Association for Cancer Research (AACR); Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC). He is actively involved in medical education, regularly teaching courses for graduate students, medical students, and fellows.

Clinical Specialties

Dr. Kosoff’s clinical interests include medical oncology and genitourinary cancers (bladder, kidney, prostate, testicular).

Dr. Kosoff's translational research utilizes microfluidic cell culture technologies to identify and target tumor microenvironment (TME)-mediated pathways of cancer progression and therapeutic resistance. He also leads multiple clinical trials focusing on genitourinary cancers and biomarker development as the local Primary Investigator. His research is supported by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Department of Defense (DOD), and National institutes of Health (NIH).
