Meet an Alum: Dr. Christopher D'Angelo
Class of 2018
Post-graduate employment: Current faculty member at the University of Nebraska Division of Hematology & Oncology
How our program prepared him:
"My fellowship training at the University of Wisconsin in Madison provided me with an outstanding foundation in hematology/oncology. Clinical experience is second-to-none: the VA oncology clinic provides a wonderful balance of autonomy and supervision and the UW Carbone Cancer Center helps train in oncologic subspecialties with top experts in the field.
Career- and research-wise, I benefited tremendously from outstanding mentorship across the division and having an opportunity to train on the T32 hematology grant jump-started my research and academic career! I wouldn't be here today without this fellowship experience!"
Meet an Alum: Dr. David Kosoff
Class of 2019
Post-graduate employment: Current faculty member at the University of Wisconsin Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care
How our program prepared him:
"My experiences in the UW Hematology and Oncology Fellowship Program were instrumental in my ultimate career path. When I entered the program, I knew that I had a strong interest in academic medicine and translational research, but I did not yet have a clear idea about which specific areas I wanted to focus on as a clinician or a researcher.
Through tremendous support that I received from the dedicated mentors within the program as well as my broad based exposure to an array of clinical a research specialties, I was able to identify a clear focus for my career as physician scientist and to develop a career plan that supported my transition from trainee to early-career faculty."
