Inquiry and Innovation
Research is a core component of the University of Wisconsin Hematology/Oncology fellowship. We partner closely with the UW Carbone Cancer Center, which is nationally recognized for excellence in all aspects of cancer research.
With additional support from investigators in our division, department and campus, you’ll participate in innovative research and learn to develop your own projects.

Personalized Research Experience
Fellows are able to write protocols, accrue patients to studies, create/present abstracts and write manuscripts based on original mentored research.
With 18 months of elective time, fellows can find research projects they would like to participate in and see them through to completion. Trainees who come through our Physician-Scientist Training Program have more than 80 percent of their time protected for research during the final three years of their training.
