Pilot grants awarded for medical education projects

The Department of Medicine's Education Committee has awarded three 2017 Pilot Grants to support research and scholarly work in medical education.
Each investigator and collaborator is pictured at right from top to bottom in the order listed below.
Jessica Tischendorf, MD, honorary associate/fellow, Infectious Disease and Sara Johnson, MD, assistant professor (CHS), Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care have been awarded $20,000 over one year for a project entitled "Development of a Web-Based Platform for Blended learning in a Resident-as-Educator Curriculum."
Christine Kolehmainen, MD, clinical adjunct assistant professor, General Internal Medicine, has been awarded $20,000 over one year for a project entitled "Faculty Can 'Break the Bias Habit' Too!"
Kerri Austin, MD, Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellow and Sumona Saha, MD, MS, associate professor (CHS), Gastroenterology and Hepatology, have been awarded $17,500 over one year for a project entitled, "Preventing Endoscopy-Related Injuries Among Gastroenterology Fellows: A Train the Trainers Program."
