Professional Activities

Dr. Thompson is a faculty member in the Division of Cardiology within the Department of Medicine. As a clinical cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist, Dr. Thompson specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. He is an active member of the Heart Rhythm Society and the American College of Cardiology. His research is focused on clinical outcomes and quality improvement related to electrophysiology procedures.

Clinical Specialties

Dr. Thompson performs minimally invasive catheter procedures to treat arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, and ventricular tachycardia. He also focuses on the implantation and extraction of pacemakers and defibrillators, including leadless pacemakers and subcutaneous implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs).
