Dr. Katheryn (Kate) Schueller is a faculty member in the Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care. As a clinician, her primary focus is on palliative care for patients with life-limited diagnoses including cancer. As a medical educator, she serves as associate program director for the UW-Madison Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program. Dr. Schueller has also provided clinical instruction to medical students, including serving as a clinical preceptor and course instructor. Honors and awards bestowed upon Dr. Schueller include induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honorary society, selection for the American Medical Women’s Association Glasgow Memorial Scholarship, and (as a medical student) the Donald J. Welter Memorial Award for recognition in the field of family medicine. Dr. Schueller is a member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and the American Academy of Family Physicians. Prior to entering the field of medicine, Dr. Schueller was an educator and taught English at seven different schools in Japan.
