Professional Activities

Dr. Chris Purtell is a faculty member in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine within the Department of Medicine. He is a member of the Heart Rhythm Society. He also serves within the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine and Electrophysiology at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital since 2023.

Clinical Specialties

Dr. Purtell specializes in the use of minimally invasive procedures to treat a variety of arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation (AF), supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), and ventricular tachycardia (VT). He also specializes in device-related management and implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators with a special interest in conduction system pacing techniques.
