Professional Activities

Dr. Patel is a faculty member in the Division of Gastroenterology in the Department of Medicine, and Section Chief of Gastroenterology at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Affairs Hospital. Dr. Patel is a member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) and American College of Gastroenterology (ACG). Past honors have included election to Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA), University of Wisconsin GI Fellowship Educator of the Year Award, and University of Wisconsin Department of Medicine Star Educator Award. Academically, Dr. Patel focuses his time as a medical educator. Dr. Patel actively trains the Gastroenterology Fellows on endoscopic procedures at the VA hospital, and staffs the Gastroenterology Fellows continuity clinic at the VA hospital.

Clinical Specialties

Dr. Patel focuses in general gastroenterology with expertise in general endoscopy and endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) of large gastric, duodenal, and colonic polyps.
