Professional Activities

Dr. David Murray is a faculty member in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine within the Department of Medicine.  Dr. Murray is involved in medical education and is the Director of the Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Fellowship Program. Before joining the faculty at UW SMPH, Dr. Murray was on faculty at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Circulation, Circulation Research and Cardiovascular Research.

Clinical Specialties

Dr. Murray’s clinical interests include Heart Failure, Transplant and the medical management of transplant patients, and Mechanical Circulatory Support.

Research Interests

Dr. Murray has received the American Heart Association National Grant-in-Aid funding to investigate the mechanism of tumor necrosis factor alpha induced ventricular dysfunction in the intact animal. He served as principal investigator for several multi-center clinical trials designed to investigate novel pharmacologic and device-based therapies for congestive heart failure.
