Professional Activities

Dr. Fardina Malik, MBBS, joined the UW Division of Rheumatology following 7 years as a clinician at NYU and attending NYU Langone Health at the Tisch location and the Langone Orthopedic Center. Dr. Malik is an active member of several professional societies, including the American College of Rheumatology, the Spondyloarthritis Research and Treatment Network, and the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis. Dr. Malik has contributed to the field of spondyloarthritis, especially inflammatory bowel disease associated arthritis, through peer-reviewed publications and is dedicated to shaping future physicians through fellow teaching and invited continuing education lectures. In addition to her academic and clinical work, she engages in community service and has made several media appearances to promote public health awareness.

Clinical Specialties

Dr. Malik treats patients with a variety of rheumatologic diseases, with a particular interest in IBD-associated arthritis, axial spondyloarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and psoriatic arthritis.

Research Interests

Dr. Malik’s research focuses on seronegative spondyloarthritis (SpA), with a specific emphasis on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) associated SpA and the role of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and biomarkers to aid in early diagnosis of SpA and improve patient outcomes.
