Professional Activities

Dr. Malik is a faculty member of the Division of Allergy, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine in the Department of Medicine. Prior to joining the faculty of UW-Madison, she practiced in New York and was a faculty member at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and served as director of Pulmonary Medicine at the North Central Bronx Hospital.

Honors and awards presented to Dr. Malik include the Frank A. Ross “Distinguished Ward Preceptor” Award, the Physician Role Model Award for the Mount Sinai Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship program, and the Most Professional Resident Award for New York Methodist Hospital. As a medical educator, she has founded and directed training courses on topics including basic airway management and the use of ultrasonography in pulmonary and critical care medicine. She served on the clinician leadership team in collaboration with the Fire Department of New York for implementation of hypothermia protocols. Dr. Malik is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians.

Clinical Specialties

Dr. Malik's medical interests include pulmonary disease and critical care medicine, with particular interest in management of asthma, interstitial lung disease, HIV and pulmonary disease, and therapeutic hypothermia.
