Professional Activities

Dr. Michael Lucey is a faculty member and former chief of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology within the Department of Medicine.  Dr. Lucey provides care to liver patients in UW in patient and ambulatory sites and the UW Liver Transplant Program.  He teaches students in MD programs, provides classroom and clinical instruction to residents and fellows, and serves as a research mentor to undergraduate students, graduate students, trainees, and junior faculty members.

Clinical Specialties

Dr. Lucey’s clinical interests are hepatology and alcoholic liver disease, liver transplant medicine, and liver biopsy.

Research Interests

Dr. Lucey directs an NIH-funded research program into alcohol-associated liver disease and liver transplantation.
