Dr. Levinson is a faculty member of the Division of Rheumatology within the Department of Medicine. Having established the UW Health Geri-Rheumatology clinic in 2023, he seeks to evaluate the burden and epidemiology of cognitive impairment in patients with rheumatic diseases. In collaboration with the UW Geriatrics Division, he aims to incorporate geriatric principles to the care of older rheumatology patients. He is a member of the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Corporate Relations committee and American Geriatrics Society (AGS) Clinical Practice and Models of Care committee, serves as a peer reviewer for the Rheumatology Research Foundation, and was the prior Chair of the ACR Fellows-in-Training Subcommittee. Dr. Levinson is passionate about medical education from the lecture hall to the bedside, teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and physicians’ assistant students. He is an Assistant Block Leader for the Mind & Motion Course for Phase 1 medical students, Co-Director of the Rheumatology Fellowship Core Curriculum, and organizes the annual Rheumatology Fellowship Bootcamp. He has presented lectures and research at regional and national conferences.
Dr. Levinson treats patients with a variety of rheumatologic diseases, with a particular interest in systemic lupus erythematosus (lupus), psoriatic arthritis, and geriatric rheumatology. He treats patients in the UW Health Lupus clinic and established the UW Health Geri-Rheumatology clinic in 2023.
Dr. Levinson’s research interests include geriatric-rheumatology, cognitive impairment/dementia in rheumatologic diseases, and medical education initiatives.
