Professional Activities

Dr. Alexis Eastman is an associate professor in the Division of Geriatrics and Gerontology in the Department of Medicine. Additionally, she is the Senior Medical Director of Ambulatory Medical Specialties for UW Health and the Medical Director of the Badger Prairie Health Center in Verona, Wisconsin. In her clinical practice, she provides primary geriatrics care for older adults as well as subspecialty care in memory and geriatric pre-operative care. As a medical educator, Dr. Eastman provides classroom and clinical instruction to medical students, residents and fellows and continuing medical education instruction about topics in geriatric medicine to practicing providers. She is a member of the American Geriatrics Society, the Gerontological Society of America, the Society for General Internal Medicine, and the American Association for Physician Leadership. Dr. Eastman has been named several times to the “Madison’s Top Doctors” list and has received multiple awards for her patient care and education skills. Her scholarly publications have focused on initiatives to promote interprofessional learning in geriatric medicine and facilitate effective transitions of care.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Eastman’s clinical interests include geriatric medicine, dementia, pre-operative evaluation, delirium, fall prevention, and transitions of care.
