Dr. Berg is an internist and researcher focusing on smoking cessation in vulnerable populations. She is active in the General Internal Medicine Research Scholars Group, and serves as a reviewer for the Journal of General Internal Medicine and Tobacco Use and Cessation. She regularly supervises Internal Medicine residents in clinic, leads lectures with the residents, and has served as an Internal Medicine Clinical Preceptor for third year medical students.
Dr. Berg's clinical interests include primary care, women's health, and tobacco cessation.
At the University of Wisconsin Center for Tobacco Research and Intervention, Dr. Berg is conducting research focused on improving smoking cessation among vulnerable populations. These populations include individuals from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds, individuals with psychiatric or substance abuse co-morbidities, racial and ethnic minority populations, rural populations and Veterans. Her recent publications and scientific presentations have focused on the provision of smoking cessation treatment to Veterans and vulnerable populations.
