Dr. Ford Ballantyne is a faculty member in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine within the Department of Medicine. Dr. Ballantyne is co-director of the Adult Congenital Clinic and has dedicated much of his career to teaching cardiovascular medicine to medical students, residents, fellows, and peer physicians at continuing medical education presentations. Dr. Ballantyne served for many years as the director of the Cardiology Fellowship Program and co-director of the second-year cardiovascular pathophysiology course. He has received numerous awards during his distinguished career at UW, including the Department of Medicine Excellence in Teaching Award, the Basic Science Teaching Award, the UW Health Patient Experience Physician Champion Award, and has been named to the Best Doctors in America List multiple years.
Dr. Ballantyne's clinical interests include congenital heart disease in adults, single cell electrophysiology, echocardiography and the integration of cardiology and internal medicine.
