Tracking virus mutations reveals success of stay-at-home orders
By tracking COVID-19 virus mutation, a study published in Nature Communications that includes co-authors Nasia Safdar, MD, PhD (right), and Caitlin Pepperell, MD, FRCPC (left), shows the success that stay-at-home orders had in preventing the spread of the virus. According to an analysis of the genome sequences of virus samples collected from infected patients in Dane and Milwaukee counties, there was little viral transmission between the counties.
