What is your primary professional focus in any or all of our mission areas (clinical, research, and/or medical education)?
I am primarily involved in clinical care and outcomes based research in benign hematology including bleeding and thrombotic disorders.

What drew you to UW-Madison and the Department of Medicine?
I trained in hematology/oncology at UW Madison and decided to stay here because of the great work environment and colleagues in the department who were very encouraging and accommodating. There is great potential for the benign hematology program to continue to grow and offer services and care to a wide range of patients with these conditions. I felt that I could pursue my career and academic interests with full confidence that the department and its leadership will support my long-term goals.

What are you most excited about during your first year with the department in this role?
Finally being able to focus on my area of interest and the professional relationships I am beginning to develop with my patients.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
Reading good books, cooking, visiting local farms and discovering scenic places in and around Wisconsin.
