Joined the Department of Medicine as a faculty member: September 2019
What is your primary professional focus in any or all of our mission areas (clinical, research, and/or medical education)?
I'm primarily focusing on clinical work at this time, but I'm excited about the teaching opportunities at UW.
What drew you to UW-Madison and the Department of Medicine?
The easy answer is that my husband, Dr. Blake Fleeman, accepted a job here in cardiac electrophysiology, but beyond that, I was drawn to the wide range of clinical and educational opportunities and the department's commitment to supporting individual growth and career development.
What are you most excited about during your first year with the department in this role?
As part of a dual-physician couple, I've had to move every two to three years since residency, so I'm most excited about getting settled and developing my patient panel. Primary care is all about continuity and ongoing relationships and I'm looking forward to getting to know my patients and colleagues.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I enjoy spending time with my family [including second son's arrival in October], hiking, cooking and the occasional crochet/knitting project.
