What is your primary professional focus in any or all of our mission areas (clinical, research, and/or medical education)?
My primary focus will be clinical care and patient-oriented research. My clinical role is as a neuropsychologist assessing cognitive and behavioral symptoms associated with dementia. My research program will focus on improving detection of preclinical Alzheimer’s disease using neuroimaging, fluid biomarkers, and cognitive measures.

What drew you to UW-Madison and the Department of Medicine?
I was drawn to the well-renowned Alzheimer’s research program and the opportunity to work collaboratively as part of interdisciplinary teams in both research and clinical settings.

What are you most excited about during your first year with the department in this role?
I am excited about developing new clinical programs to improve assessment and care of older adults with cognitive impairments and collaborating on cutting-edge research projects.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I like to spend time hanging out with my husband and toddler, hiking, and reading fiction.

Favorite piece of advice from a mentor or inspiring figure in your life?
When I started my postdoctoral fellowship, my mentor suggested that I find something that I enjoy and become the expert at it.
