New faculty Q&A with Dr. Kim Dittus

Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care

What is your primary professional focus as it relates to our mission areas (clinical, research and/or medical education)?  
I focus on coordinating and developing clinical programs that help individuals with cancer deal with cancer and its treatment. Related to that I’m interested in, research that evaluates disseminate and implementation of what we already know is helpful in supportive care.

What drew you to UW–Madison and the Department of Medicine?   
A wonderful opportunity to continue working as a breast oncologist, help develop in integrative oncology consults and build the Carbone Cancer Center’s support services. There is so much potential here.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?  
Anything active, especially with my dogs outdoors. I really like good food too!
