Kieran Sahasrabudhe, MD
Assistant Professor
Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care
What is your primary professional focus as it relates to our mission areas (clinical, research and/or medical education)?
I am a hematologist who focuses on the treatment of acute leukemias (AML and ALL) as well as other myeloid malignancies. I enjoy seeing patients in clinic and on the inpatient service and also appreciate being part of a field that is rapidly advancing and evolving. My research focuses on clinical trials of novel therapies as well as database research focused on outcomes in these patient populations.
What drew you to UW–Madison and the Department of Medicine?
I initially came to UW to complete a residency in internal medicine. I was drawn to the culture that exists in the department, particularly the collegial and supportive mindset that people have. I was also drawn to everything that Madison has to offer as a city.
What are you most excited about during your first year with the department in this role?
I'm most excited about continuing to grow as a clinician and investigator and working to expand our clinical research initiatives.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I enjoy running, biking, traveling, and good food.
Favorite piece of advice from a mentor or inspiring figure in your life?
