What is your primary professional focus as it relates to our mission areas (clinical, research and/or medical education)?  
My primary clinical focus is on preventative cardiology. While I find great meaning in the work we do helping patients navigate acute and chronic cardiovascular disease processes, I find a lot of joy in educating patients about prevention.

What drew you to UW–Madison and the Department of Medicine?   
UW has so many wonderful resources for both providers and patients. What drew me most to UW–Madison and the Department of Medicine are the people and the ability to grow my career in different facets. UW–Madison feels like a family who supports both your professional and personal endeavors.

What are you most excited about during your first year with the department in this role?  
I am most excited about my work in the preventative cardiology group and in medical education. Specifically, I love working with fellows and helping them learn the intricacies of cardiovascular medicine while also guiding and supporting their growth and pursuit of future endeavors.  

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?  
I enjoy spending time with my husband and 2.5-year-old daughter. I love playing and watching tennis, Pilates, and traveling.

Favorite piece of advice from a mentor or inspiring figure in your life?  
Empathy can be as healing as medicine.
