What is your primary professional focus in any or all of our mission areas (clinical, research, and/or medical education)?
My primary professional focus is clinical allergy with a special area of interest in adult primary immune deficiency. I am also interested in medical education, both at the fellowship and medical student levels. I am currently working on a curricular research project focusing on medical students rotating through our Allergy Clinics that is funded via a UW Department of Medicine grant.

What drew you to UW-Madison and the Department of Medicine?
I came over to Madison for my internal medicine residency and chose to stay for both my fellowship training in A/I and my first faculty position. I have appreciated the warm and welcoming culture here at UW, which has helped me to find excellent mentorship in both clinical practice and medical education.

What are you most excited about during your first year with the department in this role?
I am most excited to work with trainees at all levels and to help improve our virtual conference schedule for the fellowship to promote more discussion and participation.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I'm very much into sports (Go Badgers!). When not watching games, I enjoy visiting state parks and craft breweries.

Favorite piece of advice from a mentor or inspiring figure in your life?
When I was an internal medicine resident, I was told to pick a career where I would enjoy seeing both the bread-and-butter cases in addition to medical mysteries. From managing asthma and allergies to the most complicated immune deficiencies, I've certainly enjoyed seeing a share of both!
