Highlights from IDWeek 2018
IDWeek is the joint scientific conference of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA), the HIV Medicine Association (HIVMA), and the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (PIDS). The 2018 meeting occurred in San Francisco, California on October 3-7, 2018.
Members of the Division of Infectious Disease presented 33 different abstracts on topics ranging from a tele-antibiotic stewardship program, to infection control in global health settings, to the ability of emerging pathogen Candida auris to evade neutrophil attack.
David Andes, MD, professor and head, Infectious Disease, presented several studies on pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic properties of novel antimicrobial agents.
