Hematology and medical oncology fellow Dr. Kimberly Ku receives national award

Dr. Kimberly KuHematology and Medical Oncology fellow Kimberly Ku, MD is one of nine residents or fellows in the US selected for a 2017 Postgraduate Award from the medical honorary society Alpha Omega Alpha. 

The award provides up to $2,000 in funding to support Dr. Ku's research. 

Her proposal was entitled, "Molecular transformation of neuroendocrine prostate cancer as a predictive marker of visceral metastasis in castration-resistant prostate cancer patients." 

Dr. Ku is mentored by Joshua Lang, MD, MS, assistant professor, Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care.

Postgraduate Awards from Alpha Omega Alpha support scholarly projects by residents or fellows in the areas of research, service, medical education, leadership, or humanism and professionalism.  

Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society is dedicate to recognition and advocation of excellence in scholarship, demonstrated professionalism, and the growth of physician leadership in the profession of medicine. There are 131 active chapters of the organization. It grants more than $1.75 M in programs and awards each year.
