Get to know new Chief Resident Dr. Sarah Floden
Sarah Floden, MD
Page Family Endowed Chief Resident
Medical School: University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine
What does being a chief mean to you?
Supporting residents as a teacher, mentor, and confidante. Being a loyal advocate, striving to create an environment where residents are set up to reach their personal and professional goals. And being a really intentional listener, so we hear what is working and what is not working - particularly in this upcoming transition to a new curricular model!
What are you most looking forward to as chief?
Connecting with people one-on-one and learning people's stories are what excite me about coming to work each day. As curriculum chief, I am excited to work with residents to make our new Friday didactic days a time for valuable learning and community building.
What is your favorite part of the UW-Madison IM Residency?
The residents and faculty here are incredibly smart, and incredibly kind. I'm so proud to be part of a program that is dedicated not only to clinical excellence, but to recognizing our patients and peers' humanity.
