Get to know new Chief Resident Dr. John Davis
John Davis, MD
Bridges Family Endowed Chief Resident
Medical School: University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health
What does being a chief mean to you?
I have been lucky enough to work with many former UW chief residents, including some who have stayed at UW as attendings and fellows. They are always fantastic clinicians and educators, and often credit this time as formative in the professional growth. I feel very lucky to have a similar opportunity over the course of this year.
What are you most looking forward to as chief?
I'm looking forward to spending so much time with our residents, and hopefully getting to have a positive impact on their training. I'm also looking forward to spending the year working alongside Gabby, Sarah, and Nadia.
What is your favorite part of the UW-Madison IM Residency?
I've loved the camaraderie and closeness among our residents, both within cohorts and between. The training and opportunities during residency are outstanding, but it's these connections and relationships that I have enjoyed the most.
