Get to know new Chief Resident Dr. Gabby Waclawik
Gabby Waclawik, MD, MPH
Vogelman/Carnes Family Endowed Chief Resident
Medical School: University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health
What does being a chief mean to you?
Being a chief means I get to give back to the residency program in so many ways. Residency training is challenging everywhere, but I truly had a wonderful experience during my internal medicine residency at UW, despite all the obstacles of the COVID pandemic that affected training environments everywhere. I hope future residents of the program have a similarly great experience.
What are you most looking forward to as chief?
I am looking forward to a year of growth and new responsibilities: growing as a leader, educator, public speaker and advocate for the residency program.
What is your favorite part of the UW-Madison IM Residency?
The community of incredible supportive residents and program staff. I could not have made it through residency without them!
