A letter to the editor by Barbara La Follette, wife of former Wisconsin Attorney General Bronson C. La Follette, thanked nurses and doctors at the cardiac intensive care unit of University Hospital for care given to her husband before he passed away.

"The staff’s skilled care of my husband, coupled with their hugs, compassion and sensitivity gave us strength through an extremely difficult time. I cannot thank nurse Joe, Dr. Roderick Deaño [pictured] and the rest of the cardiac team enough. The residents of Wisconsin are so fortunate to have the quality of care and level of expertise of the UW medical staff available at our door step," she wrote.

Bronson La Follette, born in 1935, was the grandson of “Fighting Bob” La Follette and the son of US Senator Robert M. La Follette, Jr.
