Dr. Peiman Hematti participates in bioengineering summit
Peiman Hematti, MD, professor, Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care, has been selected to participate in the Vascular Tissue Challenge Bioengineering Road-mapping Summit at NASA Ames Research Center on March 5-7, 2018.
He joined the Road-mapping Committee "In-Vivo Regeneration" group, which is focused on coordinating and accelerating research aimed at finding ways to replace lost or damaged organ functionality.
The goal of the road-mapping effort is to put specific definitions and relationships on challenges and sub-challenges along the way to producing products such as tissues, patches, and whole organs.
A report will serve as the foundation for a Research Coordination Network that will be proposed to the National Science Foundation.
