Dr. Heather Johnson speaks at national workshop on heart disease in young adults

Dr. Heather Johnson

Heather Johnson, MD, MS, associate professor, Cardiovascular Medicine, presented a talk entitled "Hypertension and Heart Failure Disparities in Young Adults" at a workshop organized by the National Institutes of Health-National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NIH-NHLBI).

The workshop, which occurred on September 14-15, 2017 in Bethesda, Maryland, was entitled "Challenges and opportunities for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease among young adults."

Dr. Johnson's presentation occurred during a session entitled "Cardiovascular disease outcomes in young childhood." Additional sessions during the workshop were titled, "What do we know about cardiovascular disease risk in young adults?," "Lifestyle, psychological, and social contributors to cardiovascular health of young adults," and "Early intervention to prevent CVD—evidence (or lack thereof)."
