Amanda Parkes, MD, assistant professor (CHS), Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care (pictured), was selected for the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s Education Scholars Program (ASCO-ESP). Her application was chosen from more than 50 for the 12-member class of 2020-2021.

ASCO-ESP is designed to find and develop the next generation of national leaders in cancer education. Participants undergo learning science and leadership skills training to advance medical education within ASCO, their institution and the medical community as a whole.

Following the completion of the program, participants will be placed on volunteer work groups to integrate evidence-based education into ASCO programs.
