After serving on the Financial Services team of the Department of Medicine since 2011, Ronald Ravel, CPA, will be departing on March 30, 2018 to accept a position as Senior Director of Financial Administration and Compliance at the University of Wyoming.

"Over the past six and a half years, he has built an outstanding fiscal team with his staffing decisions, training and communication. Ron and his team have streamlined our financial processes, resulting in improved efficiencies for the department across both UW and UW Medical Foundation accounting systems," said Sheri Lawrence, MBA, department administrator.

Ravel led a project in partnership with the department's Information Services team to develop and implement a new platform called the Central Accounts Tracking Tool (CATT), which improved financial communications and monitoring. CATT is now in use by five departments in the School of Medicine and Public Health, as well as the UW-Madison School of Business and the School of Pharmacy.

"The Department of Medicine, including our financial partners, is a large and complex entity to comprehend. Ron handled it well, accepting the challenges and always working towards improving them. We are grateful for his talent and professionalism, and he will be missed," said Lawrence.
