Clinical and translational researchers receive awards

Several members of the Department of Medicine were selected for awards for oral abstracts or travel grants to attend the 2018 Combined Annual Meeting of the Central Society for Clinical and Translational Research (CSCTR) and the Midwestern Section of the American Federation for Medical Research (MWAFMR). The meeting occurred on April 26-27, 2018.

The conference included presentations about clinical research techniques and new research findings in a broad range of medical specialties, including cardiology, gastroenterology, pulmonary and critical care, hematology and oncology, endocrinology, nephrology, infectious disease, allergy, and health care research.

Deyang Y. Yu, research assistant, Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, received an Oral Abstract Award.

  • Heidi Pak, research assistant, Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism 
  • Gisele Toumi, UW School of Medicine and Public Health MD student (mentored by Vincent Cryns, MD, professor and head, Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism)
