What does being a chief resident mean to you?
Being a chief resident is such an honor. It has been a privilege to train at the University of Wisconsin, and I see this year as an opportunity to give back to a program and community that has provided me with exceptional training and mentorship. As chief resident, I look forward to working with and learning from my co-chiefs and program staff while serving as a mentor and advocate for our residents. Chief year is also a great opportunity to support residents as they realize and achieve their personal and professional goals.

What are you most looking forward to as chief?
I am excited to develop my skills in teaching and mentorship as I work with our current residents and staff. I am also thrilled to be spending the year with my wonderful co-chiefs, Mazen, Haley and Lucas. They are passionate, dedicated individuals, and I look forward to collaborating with them to continually improve our program.

What’s your favorite part of the UW internal medicine residency?
My favorite part of UW internal medicine residency is, without a doubt, the people. From our residents to our leadership, our program is filled with kind and collegial individuals that have made UW an amazing place to grow and train. Our program also offers significant personalization and flexibility, allowing each of us to create a training path that aligns with our career goals. I am incredibly thankful for my time in pulmonary hypertension clinic and have found abundant opportunities in medical education and health services research, all continuously supported by our program.
