Professional Activities

Dr. Swanson is a faculty member in the Division of Nephrology in the Department of Medicine. As a transplant nephrologist, Dr. Swanson aims to care for patients with kidney, pancreas and other solid organ transplants with kidney disease to improve patient and graft survival outcomes. He serves as the Transplant Nephrology Fellowship Program Director. He is a member of the American Society of Nephrology and the American Society of Transplantation, and has presented clinical research at national medical conferences including the American Society of Nephrology and American Transplant Congress meetings. As a medical educator, he has taught classroom didactic sessions for medical students and nephrology fellows in nephrology and core internal medicine topics.

Dr. Swanson's clinical interests include nephrology, transplant nephrology, pancreas transplantation, delayed graft function, living donation and kidney disease in non-kidney solid organ transplantation.
