Professional Activities

Dr. Nicholas Haun is a faculty member in the Division of Hospital Medicine within the Department of Medicine. As a hospitalist, Dr. Haun focuses on providing care to adult patients in inpatient settings. Dr. Haun has received the Inpatient Teaching Award, the Patient-Centeredness Award, and the Resident Teaching Award from the Department of Medicine. He also has been inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honorary society, and is a member of the American College of Physicians and the Society of Hospital Medicine. Dr. Haun serves as an attending physician on the inpatient medical teaching service at University Hospital and the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital, and provides clinical and classroom instruction to medical students and residents. He has served as a volunteer physician for the Madison Street Medicine Initiative (MSMI) and MEDiC Clinics to provide health care for people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity, and has developed clinical protocols to guide point-of-care medical decision-making for MSMI. His clinical studies and scholarly publications have focused on infection control in inpatient settings.
